Issue Position

The Massachusetts educational system is among the finest in the nation, and for that we should all be proud. Unfortunately, the education reforms that were signed into law by Governor Weld in 1993, that put our schools on track for great success, have given way to the less rigorous national standards and our students are already being affected.

I will work to restore the more rigorous standards to ensure that our educational system is properly focused on student learning outcomes, rather than bureaucratic internal processes. Its a matter of fairness!
